[A-List] "Blair is dangerously wrong about US government"
Interesting Guardian article from one of their experienced journalists,
Martin Kettle, who described himself as a friend of Blair before Blair
became prime minister, and who has been posted in the USA.
The overall argument is that Blair has a much more comprehensive world
strategy than Bush but has to tail behind him.
It does not emphasise how formative was Blair's experience of the necessity
of negotiating with terrorists, and how much Bush's preoccupation with Iraq
distracts from addressing the fears that Kettle thinks Blair regards as the
key danger. Nor does it emphasise that Blair considers the global threat to
be chaos, and not just specific terrorist groups.
