I agree generally with your disdain for News Max,
but I wouldn't call it "ultra" right-wing -
they pretty much stick with the neocon line, which
isn't "ultra" anything other than "ultra"
self-serving. But News Max clearly has an
agenda, sources poorly, and mostly just
rehashes other publications' reports from their own
partisan POV. What struck me about
this story was that there are citations from the AP, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, and court
records that can be checked.
Anyway, because of those citations and some
business I have in Arkansas, I may follow
up. It's pretty bold to lie with citations,
so I'm actually more curious about News Max than
I am about Clinton. Frankly, I'd love to
catch out News Max.
What are we supposed to learn from
it? Until it's checked out, we can't
learn much.
But if the citations prove true, then it will just be one more story of political bigotry
to add
to what is already a pretty steep pile - and of media irresponsiblity which you cited and
discussed in the story on Ballenger you submitted to Common Dreams. But if it doesn't
check out, then I've got a nice grenade to hurl at
what is a tiresome, unhelpful publication
presently cheering on the warmongers. -A.
