[A-List] general strike, 10 December
It would also be nice to hear from our
friends from Europe, South America, Africa and Asia/Australia
too. Don't we have any subscribers from these parts of the world,
who can share relevant information with the list?
Best,
Sabri
I reply to appeal of Sabri with some Portuguese
news:
Thousands of Portuguese workers, in the streets of
all Portuguese cities, manifest yesterday 30 October
against the package of laws to deregulate work proposed
by government. In Lisbon manifestation there were
at least 50 thousands in the streets. In other cities ---
Porto,
Coimbra, Aveiro, Faro, Setubal, Evora, etc ---
there were big manifestations also. But if you read
Portuguese newspaper or watch Portuguese TV
you see only very tiny news about this big event
--- and many pages and space for a pedophilia
scandal...
This manifestations of 30 October are coordinated
by CGTP-Intersindical, the main central of Portuguese
trade unions. The yellow central of trade unions
(named UGT) didn't participate in this manifestations.
The 30 October manifestations are a preparation
for the General Strike fixed for December 10
by CGTP. After the April Revolution (1974)
this will be the fourth general strike convoked
by CGTP. The Portuguese Communist Party
declared your public support for the December
10 General Strike.
