The only way that a "Kissinger saving the Saudi royal family/regime" scenario
makes any sense is if we have an analysis that states the bourgeois press is
operating in some form of opposition to how the junta wants things. It was
reported over a year back that the Saudi royal family had previous direct ties
with Al Qaeda; the link between Saudi and bin Laden are not at all a revelation.
This particular story is "new", as in new that it is generating some real
"debate" and a "flap". We must remember that today's flaps are choreographed,
and when we start taking the idea that this cashed cheque could become big news
on its own, we start forget that the media, on these sorts of questions,
*create* the controversy. This news was brought about by a lawsuit. Who chooses
to make a lawsuit front page news? What are the interests that have decided that
the Saudi royals no longer get shielded? The article Michael posted about the
Saudi response was a thinly veiled "we have been absolute servants for our
entire relationship, and this is how you pay us back?" It is clear to the Saudis
what it means when American media start talking about them being financiers of
Al Qaeda.

Clearly an entirely new thinking is at the heart of the American Empire if such
a pliant state can be so-easily turfed. Remeber it this way: It was widely
reported that the KLA funded themselves by supply the largest bulk of European
heroin. To those who read the bourgeois press regularly, it was readily
available knowledge... yet it was nver a "controversy". What does that indicate
about the Saudi financing case? I hold that it is a declaration of war, and that
the Saudis are so incensed because they are well aware of what "9-11!" means in
American parlance.
