[A-List] SPD slumps in Germany
The latest Emnid opinion poll gives
CDU 50%
SPD 28
Green 10
FDP 5
PDS 4
The gap between the SPD and the CDU has widened 3 points in the last week.
The Greens have maintained the good showing at the October election. The
FDP has slumped further after their poor performance and the recriminations
over Molleman. The PDS cannot keep above the 5% hurdle.
The SPD is likely to suffer a severe setback in forthcoming regional
elections in its powerbase of Lower Saxony.
