First of all, I sent the mail offlist to Mark Jones as I didn't really want

Sorry if I was in error, I thought this contribution was so useful I wanted to use it!

I'm a bit behind with posts and want to respond fully to what's been said on this thread. I'm also getting feedback offlist including this from our good friends Nestor who says:

BTW: I like your idea of the European Workers Party. But one of the issues
you did not seem to broach is immediate incorporation into the EU of _every_
country to the West of Ukraine and Belarus, particularly in the Balkan case,
with an additional proviso that the Western bourgeoisies should pay the bill
for the reconstruction of the area. If you don´t take this point as a
central one in your propositions, then you risk generating simply another
privileged labor formation, which is precisely what Mark Jones does not want
to do. A united European workers´ party for _every_ European worker, not
only for the relatively privileged EU workers!

This is where Michael and I agree 100%. Europe from the Urals to the Dardanelles--that is our motto. It is not just Central and Eastern Europe which is at issue. Why is Turkey being excluded? That is an outrage and a disgrace. It is hardly even necessary to spell out the disgusting rationale for the kind of thinking which leads to the exclusion of 'Islamic' states. Yes, we are totally opposed to any kind of Festung Europa notion--any kind of Europe of the privileged.

I'm gonna write more later, gotta run.

Mark
