Re: [A-List] FW: Check it out

 Michael Keaney:

I wonder, incidentally, how long before the significant resources at Utah
themselves come under attack from the Daniel Pipes/Lynne Cheney brigade.

We list runners should seriously look for alternatives.
These Utah lists had been hosted previously by Workers World who, frankly,
unceremoniously dumped all of our lists with little discussion.

Perhaps we should find some other hosts who might be willing to donate similar
resources. One thought would be to talk to the www.resist.ca people here in
Vancouver...

At any rate, I certainly think for A-Listers and other lists it is important to
get backup- Michael is right to question the long term viability of these Utah
Uni servers. I received an odd threat a few months ago from Time Magazine
regarding one of their articles being in the archives of Rad Green (one of the
Utah lists I moderate). I ignored it, they went "over my head" to the Utah
servers who then removed the article from the archives- despite my objection.
Hans Ehrbar has done an absolutely great service for us, but he is not the
provider-- that is the university, who I do not trust to let us be.

There is a very good chance that Israel is going to use the cover of the attack
on Iraq to ethnically cleanse what people remain in Palestine. The Zionist filth
on the internet have been viciously hacking at another local list I moderate
(not on Utah). I get several hundred administrative requests a day now, enough
to drive me nuts. To assume that during the bombing (and therefore "transfer")
Utah servers won't become far more susceptible to Zionist pressure is, imo,
naíve. WE should think about moving so as to keep information free.

Times have changed, so should our approach.

Macdonald
