I want to acknowledge, which was done in the original, the very substantial
contribution of Mark Jones to this "thinkpiece" that has apparently escaped
now into cyberspace.  And not just acknowledge Mark's contribution to much
of the content in this piece, but to this whole discussion, and to my own
sometimes difficult evolution as a socialist.  Few people have been as
helpful for me, and I know for others, in cleaning out the very
epistemology of capital, which has accumulated for over 50 years in the
dusty corners of my consciousness.

If there is anything of value here, Mark has much of the credit, and if I
have extended into faulty generalization, non-sequiter, or plain myopia,
that responsibility is my own.
