Re: [A-List] World Cups and Argentina

Hey, Nestor, is La Red radio a good listen? Did the maestro have anything
more detailed to say?

Oh, and I reckon the Argentinian football team has peaked too early, too.

Sorry,
Rob.

                         Maradona assails politicians
BUENOS AIRES, Dec 24 AFP|Published: Monday December 24, 9:09 PM

Football legend Diego Maradona has weighed in against Argentina's political
class and its handling of the economic crisis that has rocked the country.

"People no longer have faith in the politicians," he told La Red radio station.

"Our political leaders do not understand the message coming from the
Argentine people," he added.

"Argentina's politicians talk and talk, but you can't mess around like that
with 32 dead," he said although the official death toll from the street
protests is put at 29.

Maradona remains an idol in Argentina having captained the South Americans
to a World Cup win in
Mexico in 1986.

He started his playing career in Buenos Aires before moving to Europe, where
he starred at Barcelona and Naples.
