Re: [A-List] Argentine spontaneous revolution

Or are you touchy about being thrown off (or unsubed) the marxism list too,
since your defense of anarchism went overboard, destroying the "open sprit"
of the list?

himm reformism =anarchism (interesting combination:-))

I left Lou's list, but after watching the fat cats in their professional robes
treat him with contempt on the S.R list, I let him know I had come to consider
him at least objectively a comrade even if he was a jerk. That's all I have to
say on that.

I have no interest in engaging the likes of Ms Xxxxxx. My oppostion to the war
is as clear as the harassment I received from the admin at school. They know
where I stood fairly quickly. Now is the time for us to have a long look at what
is right in front of our faces. Parts of the so-called radical front of the
anti-globalisation movement have fallen by the way side. On the other hand, to
state that the misleaders of labour have done anything to fall would be to
falsely say they once proudly stood. The batch today is, in many senses, the
last line of defence for the bourgeois, even in America where labour has wielded
little but not-that-very-reformist leadership for quite sometime. We must not be
willing to quietly sit by any longer and allow this to continue. If one is
inclined to struggle with the official labour hierarchy, one must constantly
push. Break rules. Break rank. Never accept the cowardly endorsations of the
bureaucracy to endorse Bush's endless war of reconquest.

By pretending this is a "police action", Sweeney and others (some on LBO
talk stream this all the time) avoi talking about an entire process that is
unfolding and is directly at odds with the workers of the entire planet; a path
on a crash course for absolute despotism under dwindling energy resources the
entire world over. We need to not say this to one another- we already know
this-- but to fight amongst the "labour lieutenants of capital", and not
"mobilise for the streets" in order to win a series of reforms. You don't demand
reforms, but you can celebrate them when they inevitably come on the heels of a
workers radicalisation. They will handed down as a "compromise" on the path.
Keep pushing. Make waves.

Along the way, the anti-globalisation has split. This was inevitable. but,
in broad strokes, there are still enough people to keep the pressure on to be
pro-active. This is a mixed blessing. It is good that continuing proactivity
would take place and the spirit of "Bring the Boys home" not be the only message
available. The movement does need to know how to defend itself,
however...especially that with the Patriot act in place, I could be legally shot
as a non-American to attend a Seattle or DC demo. The pin striped democrats are
on the march in a real way. We cannot speak to people with either panic nor
anything less than the urgency this deserves. We have to understand and speak
now to the fact that our very existence hangs in the balance and we need to be
ready. We must grow up, begin to meet and discuss that we need a contingency
plan. We need to never speak as the cowards.

We need to show the workers of North America that there is no avoiding the duty
and privilege to slaughter the beast here in the belly. That can only be done by
organising a movement based on wielding the strength of the working class, but
organised without them there. The "official" labour mis-leaders inevitably are
forced by the tide of events to move along in the direction of the unorganised
but active working masses. This has been the history of the last two years the
First World over. It is simply surrender to a future of death, despoliation,
destruction genocide and ecocidal war to leave ourselves at the mercy of the
labour bureacracy. We need to fight now. We have no choice and all the polemics
against our brothers and sisters in the anarchist movement does not help at all.
In fact, it is suicidal. The people who were flaky and were looking for a good
time went back to playing Sega all day on September the 12th. Good riddance to
bad weight. We, on the other hand, all the tendencies towards resistance rather
thanaccomodation in your own suppression, are aware of what will happen. The
risks are clear. They are greater than the chances of success. Yet we are still
lucky and privileged that the responsibility has fallen to us to carry out. It
is the greatest honour. And it is also the most serious and important fight yet.

Anarchists who remain a part of our modern movement are clear about one thing:
They are serious and they don't want to lose. So long as one keeps a cool head,
fear of tyranny of the Bush variety is a very healthy thing. The belief I hold
that anarchism is not a successful strategy to overthrowing the state is one I
think will make itself objectively very clear to all of us as we advance towards
the final push.

Bakunin nor Marx ever wrote a thing about resisting a global coup, so we have
nothing to polemicise about on that level anyway.'Tis a good thing.
We must treat the labour bureaucrats as sharply as Comrade Lenin. We must not be
in the slightest intimidated by the situation call it as it really should be
spoken. Simply put, those in the street fighting imperialism with dangerous and
often foolhardy tactics are far less of a threat to the working class movement
than the official who says to them that the war is being fought for the good of
freedom over evil.

I can actually talk to the first comrade. To scum who talk of the police action,
I have absolutely nothing at all to say. We must speak with the certainty that
history must start now. And we need an active role.

Nothing less will do. Rosa Luxembourg was right.
