A debt default certainly is on the order of the day. It is just nicely
called a moratorium.
But this does not mean a rupture with imperialism in even the medium term.
Look at Russia today after its moratorium.
Some adjustments as a result of the crisis. Some people survived by
trading locally in potatoes. The currency got devalued, and has now been
able to trade more competitively internationally. Most importantly, some of
the living labour of the Russian people was saved and kept productive even
if it exchanged for a time at a lower rate with the labour of the rest of
the people of the world.
The IMF is not crying for Argentina. It has almost certainly calculated on
the riots.
Progressive people must be as hard-headed.
This is not a revolution.
